Well I just discovered Google Page Creator (less than 24 hours after its launch).
It’s an online web hosting service provided by Google (it’s BETA, in case you hadn’t already guessed) with 100MB of web space. No scripts such as PHP are provided, but features a nice WYSIWYG editor with basic CMS features.
I had a quick play with it, but seeing as though we’ve already got our own server, I won’t have much future use for it, probably. I bet this will probably prove to be a GeoCities killer with its 100MB of ad-free hosting and nice CMS features.

I just browsed to my guestbook test and discovered there were three comments in the moderation queue. Curious because I didn’t remember doing those comments myself, I fired up phpMyAdmin and found three spam comments!
I don’t know about you, but I found that really exciting
! Now I know that even a spambot can work its way around my coding and spam a propietary guestbook system!
Well, I’m glad I put the HTML escaping and moderation queue in the guestbook to start out with or my spammers would have had their links up for 24 hours!

In ZilchMail, I’ve got the ZilchMail logo which has the following style information:
margin: 0 0.3em 1px 0.3em;
display: inline;
float: left;
clear: left;
And for the nav links, I just have inline’d list elements.
This configuration has the effect of making the nav links appear to the right of the logo. But there’s so many other ways to do it! For example, a few days ago, I had both the logo and nav links absolutely positioned, which gave the same result.
What frustrates me is that there are so many ways to do exactly the same thing just using different methods through CSS. About 80% of the time I’ve spent on ZilchMail is trying to figure out how to achieve a particular effect when there are just so many options to implement. (The other 20% was spent figuring out how the different quotes worked in SQL queries!)
I am hoping to get ZilchMail available for use by the general public sometime. It would be cool to see people actually using it. (even if it is extremely limited in functionality and application!)

Wow, I can’t believe I didn’t notice this before! When I was reading the Wikipedia entry on Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, I noticed that TrueCombat: Elite came under the list of mods for the game! A while ago, I’d (or my siblings) been a bit of a fan of the original TrueCombat and noticed that there was a new Elite version. I took a quick look at the page for Elite, but realised it was for another game, but I didn’t realise it was a mod for Enemy Territory, which is a free game.
Well I’m glad I’ve got it now and I like the online gameplay very much. It just seems to have that feel of America’s Army, which is very team-based and tactical. If you want to check out my favourite TC:E servers, go to my Xfire profile and look for Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory servers under the Favorites heading. (Update: I rarely use Xfire now because I use Linux much more often.)

I’ve just been added to the Google Talk in Gmail participants! I must say, it’s pretty cool.
It’s really handy for when you’re on a computer and don’t have access to the main Google Talk application and you don’t really want to install it.
However, I’m still going to use the standalone Google Talk on my computer, as it does email alerts for me.
